About Fares Halout

I'm a fine art photographer based in Bunbury, Western Australia - capturing the landscapes, wildlife and coastline of this state for the past 7 years. By day, I'm also a civil engineer, but photography is where I've spent my time chasing light long before it was ever a business.

My connection to photography began when I was 18, shooting butterflies and insects back home in Syria. What started as curiosity quickly grew into a passion that has stayed with me ever since - through the move to Western Australia and into the landscapes and wildlife I photograph today.

My name, Fares (فارس), means “knight” in Arabic - a symbol of nobility, honesty, and honour. It's a meaning I've always looked up to and tried to live by, in my daily life, behind the camera, and in how I do business. It's also why a horse appears in my logo: a quiet nod to where my name comes from, and the standard I hold myself to in everything I do.

Today, my work focuses on the landscapes, wildlife, and coastline of Western Australia. I aim to create images that feel calm, immersive, and honest - the kinds of photographs that make people pause and appreciate the beauty God has placed around us.

A lot of my wildlife work depends on staying completely unseen. I'll wear full camouflage and wait, sometimes for hours, so the animal never knows I'm there and simply goes on with its day undisturbed. It's not a performance - it's respect. A photograph only feels honest to me if the moment it captures would have happened exactly the same whether I was there or not. That same principle carries into how I run this business: no shortcuts, no rushing the process, just doing the work properly and letting the result speak for itself.

Every print carries my signature, printed directly into the artwork, and is produced on museum-grade materials built to last a lifetime. Limited Edition and One of One pieces go a step further - I personally hand-sign each one before it ships, a true original touch from the artist. Whether you're looking for a centrepiece for your home, a gift, or something personal that speaks to you, I'm here to help you choose the right piece.
